We’re here to help you learn more about Christian Science and its founder, Mary Baker Eddy, as well as our Reading Room, Sunday School, and Christian Science events. We happily welcome you!
Our Services
Sunday services at First Church of Christ, Scientist,
San Mateo, are at 10:00 AM. Our Wednesday Night
testimonial meetings are at 7:30 PM.
Mary Baker Eddy
who discovered and founded Christian Science,
defined it as “the law of God, the law of good . . . ”
(Rudimental Divine Science, p. 1). In Christian Science,
God is understood to be infinite Love, and so invariably
good that a clear glimpse of this through prayer has
power to heal, redeem, and restore anyone.
Sunday School
Christian Science Sunday School is a weekly
one-hour session where young people are
taught the Bible and the power of prayer.

Scriptural readings, prayer, and a sermon are read by our elected readers.
The sermon is based on a weekly Bible lesson from our Pastor: the Bible and
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
Our Reading Room
Compared to a library or bookstore, Reading Rooms offer
a place for inspiration and prayer. Community spaces
where many have been healed by studying the lessons of the Bible
and nurturing a deeper connection with God.
